Alan grew up in New Jersey and became a Christian at age 17. He worked in the inner city of Philadelphia with the gangs while attending Northeastern Christian College in Villanova, PA. He currently has an extensive counseling practice in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He finished his undergraduate work at Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, TX (Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies). His graduate studies include Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX (Masters of Divinity), Bethel Seminary in San Diego, CA (Master of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy), and Harding University in Memphis, TN (Doctor of Ministry). He has done course work at the University of Texas (Arlington), Fuller Theological Seminary, and has been intermittently working on a Ph.D. in clinical psychology.
Alan has been married to Tamara for 35 years and they have raised five children into young adulthood, all of whom are active in the Church.
Alan is a member of the American Association Christian Counselors (AACC). He has been a member of the Kiwanis Club, participated in a White House Conference on Pornography, and ran for the U.S. House of Representatives (Texas 13th Congressional District). He has been active in the Right to Life movement and spoken to various social clubs.
Alan is a member of Fellowship Church (Fort Worth campus) and a pastoral counselor for Denton North Church, Park Hill Church, Hillcrest Christian Church, Haltom City Christian Church, The Pointe Christian Fellowship, Cross Bend Christian Church, Southwest Christian Church, and The Windsor in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
